A few words for the Country Villas
The two villas were designed by the architect Peter Pfeifer having in mind some fundamental principles: to have direct access to the beautiful nature and the surrounds from any point from within the buildings. For this reason alone, there are up to 9 balcony doors (excluding the main doors), all around the cottages. Another principle was to combine traditional architecture without compromising modern day comforts and practicalities.
An important issue that was prioritised by the owner was for the buildings to be as "energy friendly" towards the environment and the surrounds as feasibly possible. There is strictly - no - petrol heating units installed. Instead, solar power is used for your hot water needs.
Apart from the many balcony doors, there is an equal number of dormer windows installed around the cottages to increase natural lighting and encourage ventilation and incoming cool breezes during the warm summer days.
The swimming pool water is cleaned and double filtered by a mechanism that requires minimum use of chemical agents, re-filtering the water more frequently and efficiently than the conventional ways.
In "Sendoukia" cottage individual wooden roofs were constructed for each room (living room and the 2 bedrooms) which give you an extra sense of independency while being in the same house. The roof of the living room area is a unique work of art decorated with traditional wooden sculptures, (made by the father of the owner).
The area of Karya is located in the centre of Skopelos Island and overlooking towards the Eastern side and the island of Alonissos.
